In my presentation to the students I have a slideshow of photos, one being of my my hand print. I wanted a print of a normal-sized adult hand to put side-by-side so that kids can visualize just how different my hands are to a normal person’s hands. I wrote to the Cowboys football club in Townsville, Matty Bowen very kindly gave me his hand print. I now have printouts which I have laminated, they are of Matty’s and my hand print side-by-side, I pass these around to the students or whoever I’m doing a talk to, they are so interactive, because now the children and adults alike put their hands over both prints – just to see how different they are, I have also seen them trying to work out which three fingers I actually have.

This has been a great addition to my talk and the kids really love the interaction of the hand prints and being able to pass them around, so a very big thank you Matty Bowen.

I would also like to say a very big thank you to Bruce from the North Queensland Cowboys for all his help in getting the prints done and sent back to me, Bruce’s time and effort is much appreciated by me as he also took the time out to give me a grand tour of the North Queensland Cowboys headquarters while I was in Townsville doing school talks.
